Version françaisePrivacy policy
Signal Six Inc. ("Signal Six", "we") makes competitive intelligence software for product and business teams. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and what you can ask of us. It applies to signalsix.ai, the Signal Six app, our emails and Slack messages, and our Claude connector.
Who is responsible
Signal Six Inc. is responsible for the personal information described here. The person in charge of protecting it is Guillaume Chalifoux, President. You can reach them at [email protected] for any question or request about your information.
What we collect, and why
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Waitlist sign-up: email, role and company website, and your name if you give it | To contact you about access while sign-up is closed |
| Account: name, email, time zone, your role in the company, and the Google account details you share if you sign in with Google | To sign you in and deliver alerts at the right time |
| Sign-in sessions: IP address and browser type | To keep your account secure |
| Your company profile: company name and website, your target customers, your strategy and focus areas, and your competitor list | To judge which competitor moves matter to you. This is confidential to your company |
| What we produce for you: alerts, briefs, reports, battlecards and their delivery settings | This is the service |
| Your activity: what you read and react to, feedback and survey answers, and when you open our emails | To improve the service and to know whether alerts reach you |
| Connections: your Slack channel if you connect one, and the access tokens your AI assistant uses through our connector | To deliver where you work and to answer your assistant's requests |
We do not sell personal information, use it for advertising, or show one company's profile, strategy or alerts to another company.
Market data from public sources
Signal Six reads the public web pages and company social accounts of the companies our customers track, including each customer's own company. From them we build market data: which companies exist, what they sell, what it costs, and what changed and when. This data is shared across our customers, because it describes the same public companies.
This data is about companies, not people. We do not build profiles of individuals. Because we store the text of public pages and posts, it can still include a person's name, job title or quote where a company published one, such as a testimonial, a blog byline, or a post from an account the company links to.
Your company profile, your strategy and your alerts are never part of the shared market data.
Who we share it with
We use the following services to run Signal Six. Each receives only what it needs to do its job.
| Service | What it does for us | What it receives | Where |
|---|---|---|---|
| Neon | Database hosting | Everything we store: accounts, company profiles, alerts, reports and market data | United States |
| Railway | Application hosting | Everything the app processes passes through its servers | United States |
| Anthropic | AI models that read competitor pages and write your alerts and reports | Your company profile and strategy, your competitor list, and competitors' public pages | United States |
| Resend | Email delivery | Your email address and the emails we send you | United States |
| PostHog | Product analytics, error reports and AI cost tracking | Your user ID, email address and company name, the pages you visit and the actions you take, error details, and AI-generated text | United States |
| Sign in with Google | Your Google account email and name, if you sign in with Google | United States | |
| Slack | Delivery to your Slack channel if you connect it, and our own internal notifications | In your own workspace: a summary, up to three headlines with their source links, and a link to the app. In ours: your name, email, role and company when you sign up or are invited, your progress in the app (setup done, a report ready or opened, with competitor and source counts), and your survey scores and comments | United States |
| Firecrawl, LinkdAPI, X | Reading competitors' public web pages and company posts | Public web addresses and company accounts only. No information about you | Not applicable: no personal information is sent |
Anthropic does not train its models on the data we send it, and we have not opted in to any program that would allow it.
When you connect Signal Six to Claude, what Claude reads from us is handled by Anthropic under your own agreement with them.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or to a buyer of the business, who would remain bound by this policy.
Information stored outside Quebec
Most of the services above store or process data in the United States. Before relying on them, we assessed the sensitivity of the information, the purpose of each transfer, and the protection each provider offers, including its contractual commitments and security measures. Information stored in another country may be accessible to that country's authorities under its laws.
Cookies and tracking
- A sign-in cookie keeps you logged in. It is required for the app to work.
- We use PostHog to understand how the site and app are used. It records the pages you visit, the actions you take and errors that occur, and, once you sign in, links that activity to your account and email.
- Our alert and report emails contain a small image that tells us when an email is opened.
You can block cookies and images in your browser or email client. The app needs the sign-in cookie to work.
How long we keep it
- When you ask us to delete your information, or your company closes its account, we delete your personal information and your company's private information within 30 days. Copies in our backups expire on their own within 7 days after that.
- We review accounts and waitlist sign-ups at least once a year, and delete those with no activity for 12 months.
- Market data from public sources is kept as long as any customer tracks the company it describes.
- We keep a record of administrative actions taken on accounts for security and legal purposes.
How we protect it
Data travels encrypted between your browser, our servers and our providers. Each company's private information is separated from other companies' at the database level, and only authorized staff can reach production systems. No system is perfectly secure: if an incident puts your information at risk, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you, and give you a copy
- correct information that is wrong or incomplete
- delete your information, or stop using it
- give you your information in a structured, commonly used format
- withdraw a consent you gave
Write to [email protected]. We answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec or to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use information you already gave us, we will tell you by email before it applies.
